With anticipation for what lies ahead in 2013, I strive to open my heart to new relationships, welcome opportunities and embrace difficulty with confident hope in Christ. To do these, I must resist comfort, reinforce my spiritual foundation daily and yield to Him my stubborn control.
It's too easy for Christians to settle for mediocrity. Really, how hard is it to live an average life of obscurity, rarely impacting our circle of influence? We're too easily satisfied, allowing the world's recipe for success to slow cook us into complacency. Our lives are too hectic to hear and help the cries of the hurting. We've been lulled to sleep as we function just above a comatose state.
It's time to reclaim our expectant hope of Christ's work in and through our lives. Let's remember our purpose to bring glory to His kingdom. As our eyes peer into the soul of another, may we never forget God's love and the redemptive power of Christ's blood and resurrection.
Live expecting.
With 2013 upon us, I'm reflecting on the goodness of the Lord throughout this year. Expressing gratitude keeps me keenly aware of His faithfulness, forgiveness, mercy and love. You, my gracious readers are among those I thank God for. Your ministry support is a blessing to me.
Today and next Friday will be much shorter posts as I enjoy the Christmas break with my energetic boys and husband. Thank you for your gracious love. May 2013 propel you into greater dependence and deeper love for our Lord.
Love, Hester
